The Cedarhurst High School Art Competition is a juried competition open to high school students, grades 9-12th.  The Cedarhurst Administrative Counselors Art Scholarship is a juried competition open to graduating seniors for the Opportunity to compete for a 1 year college scholarship in the amount of $2,000.  (Seniors may compete in both competitions)  High Schools in the following counties are eligible to compete: Alexander, Clay, Clinton, Edwards, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Lawrence, Marion, Massac, Monroe, Perry, Pope, Pulaski, Randolph, Richland, Saline, St Clair, Union, Wabash, Washington, Wayne, White and Williamson counties.

Submission Guidelines:

• For the jury process, we accept high-quality, digital images of works of art or craft in painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography (digital or film), pastels, textiles, ceramics, glass, metal, and wood.  No installations.
• All works of art must be original.  Do not include copyrighted or AI generated images.  Original artwork is defined as such that it is unique in concept, design, and execution.  Do not use images from the internet.  *We reserve the right to disqualify artwork that violates copyright laws. 
• Digital images need to be JPEG.  Title each IMAGE FILE as follows: studentlastname,firstname entry #  (Example: smith,john1) so we can match it to the google sheet that is also shared with you documenting the artwork information. The senior portfolio IMAGE FILE names must be identified with studentlastname,firstname "P" entry # (Example: smith,johnP1; smith,johnP2) so we can identify the 6 portfolio entries from the other competition entries.  Sample lines will be included on the google sheet to get you started.  For help renaming photos on an iphone or android, see our help page.  Please use only 1 image per entry, do not send multiple views of the same work.  If you would like to show the front and back of a sculpture piece, consider using a collage photo layout image.
• Each teacher may enter up to 25 artworks only, (limit 3 entries per student) in the High School Art Competition for an entry fee of $3 per artwork.  The Scholarship Competition is a separate competition for graduating high school seniors.  Each senior may submit 1 portfolio (consisting of 6 works) for a $10 portfolio entry fee. Seniors may enter both the competition and the scholarship.  Once the submission window closes, we will invoice you for the entries submitted.  

Please submit the teacher registration form below for your school to compete in one or both competitions.  A shared Google folder and Google sheet will be emailed to the email you provide below to upload your entry images and document the accompanying work information.
